Dental

Smile big! Dental benefits can help you take care of your teeth so you look great, reduce pain, and avoid costly problems in the future.

There are two levels of plan: Basic and Premium. Both plans use the same network of dentists and cover all in-network preventive care. If you need a filling or other dental work, benefit features include basic services, major restorative care and orthodontia after you pay your deductible.

No cost check-ups

One of the best features of dental coverage is that most in-network preventive care is covered at 100% with no deductible. That means you get check-ups, X-rays, and two cleanings a year at no cost to you.

What is a pre-treatment estimate?

Pre-treatment estimates are helpful when it comes to budgeting for dental procedures and help prevent surprises. Make sure to request one from your dentist before they get started.

As an example, here’s how it would work if you were having a tooth replaced:

  • Your dental provider asks Delta Dental for an estimate.
  • Delta Dental tells them how much insurance covers and what you (the patient) would need to pay.
  • The dentist shares this information with you, and you can decide if and when to get the procedure.
  • If you’re concerned that your dentist hasn’t requested an estimate, you can call Delta Dental for your pre-treatment estimate and to answer questions.
Estimates are most typically requested for costly procedures such as crowns, wisdom tooth extractions, bridges, dentures and oral surgery.
