Enrollment

Make sure you get the most of out working at thyssenkrupp. Explore this website, and log into your benefit administration site, too. Browse the information and ask questions to ensure you are enrolled in the benefits that you need this year.

The eligibility information below indicates who can be included, and then enroll for coverage through thyssenkrupp’s secure Benefits Enrollment website. Your benefit elections remain in effect until December 31 of each year. You are not able to make a change until the next open enrollment period or if you have a qualifying event.

Eligibility

You are eligible for benefits if:

  • You are an active, regular full-time employee of thyssenkrupp, and
  • You work 30 or more hours per week.

You can also cover your eligible dependents:

  • Your legal spouse.
  • Your dependent children under age 26 (including your natural children, stepchildren, foster children, legally adopted children and children placed with you for adoption).
  • Your mentally or physically disabled children who are unmarried and rely on you for support and care. Coverage for disabled children requires disability certification for medical coverage.

Documentation Requirements

We need to make sure everyone truly is eligible, so start collecting your legal documents now so you can upload them during the enrollment process. The simplest form of documentation is a social security card for everyone who will be covered, and then proof of relationship (marriage certificate, birth certificate, court guardianship documents, etc) for any spouse or children.

It’s important that you make your enrollment choices carefully because they will remain in effect until the next annual enrollment period. You can make limited changes at other times during the year only as a result of a qualifying event, as long as you provide documentation and make your changes within 30-days.

Eligible Events

  • Marriage or divorce
  • Death
  • Birth or adoption of a child
  • A change in your or your spouse’s employment status from full to part-time or vice versa if affects your benefit eligibility
  • Change in your work site
  • Change in coverage of employee, spouse or dependent child by Medicare or Medicaid
  • Involuntary loss of medical coverage by an employee, spouse or dependent child.

Any change you make must be consistent with your qualifying event. For example, if you have a new baby, you cannot remove your spouse from your medical plan and dependent life insurance, but you can only add the child as a dependent under the plans..
